The owner of this very nice Land Cruiser Troopy encountered a problem with the 3B diesel engine recently. It quit on him and he has been told it is seized up. We don't know any more then this. It may be easily repairable. However the owner is not in a position to make repairs and wants to sell the truck "as is". $35K OBO takes it. Drop a new engine in, rebuild the existing engine. Do whatever you like. If you're dropping a new engine in you can convert the truck to LHD too! That would really add too the value.
I featured this truck recently before the engine issues and here is what I had to say
Check out this 1984 BJ45 Troop Carrier. It's a beautiful example that was imported to the US from the desert climates of Southeast Asia. The truck is a low miles example and did not require a frame-off restoration.
<p>
It has a super sanitary rust free frame and body and a strong CA smog exempt 3B diesel engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The owner selected high quality textiles and leather to re-create the custom interior and worked with Iron Pig Off-Road, a reputable Land Cruiser shop to complete a comprehensive undercarriage restoration to produced this beautiful example.
